2012 Season Phases
Our phases of the season include pre-season games, regular season games and post-season/all stars.
Due to lack of participation in past years for the tune up clinics they will not be held this year. We would highly recommend you starting throwing the ball and going to a hitting cage prior to the player evaluation dates. GOOD LUCK!!!
Try-Outs Rain Delay
In the event of rain on the day of try-outs, we will schedule alternative dates. If needed, they will be held at Belmont Sports Complex during the same scheduled time frame: 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
This phase of the season is intended for players not participating in High School Baseball. With the preseason, players get an opptorunity to play more innings and gives coaches an opportunity to develope players for the the regular season. Games are played every Saturday and Sunday, with some games in Mt. View starting March 31, 2012. We ask that you avoid conflicts between your Babe Ruth team and other baseball programs during the preseason. This is a simple courtesy to your teammates and coaches. Absence from Babe Ruth baseball games due to participation in another baseball program may result in games being forfeited.
Each team will play 16 games between May 12th and June 17th. Dates are subject to modification as needed. We will continue our traditional double elimination tournament (June 18th – June 25th) to finish up the regular season, with a league-wide barbecue at the championship game. Our six-week season mirrors the length of the high school season. Like the high school teams, we ask that you avoid conflicts between your Babe Ruth team and other baseball programs during the season. This is a simple courtesy to your teammates and coaches. Absence from Babe Ruth baseball games due to participation in another baseball program may result in all star ineligibility.
We will be forming our all star teams earlier this year and at that time will ask for a commitment from each prospective player. Please consider possible all star participation when making your summer plans. Past teams have progressed to the second level (NorCal State Championships) for the past two consecutive years. All stars can run through the end of July should one of our three teams (13’s, 14’s, 15’s) make it to Regionals.
