New Boundries (November 25, 2011)

Great News Bel-Mateo Babe Ruth has added to our league boundries to all cities north of Burlingame to San Francsico. This also includes all Costal Cities as well, which includes all towns north of Halfmoon Bay to Pacifica. So anyone interested who resides in those areas are now able to participate. With the new boundries we had to drop the entire City of Redwood City, with the exception of Redwood Shores residence.

Letter to Families (October, 31 2012)

To returning families of Babe Ruth and new families of Babe Ruth:

Dear Parents and Players:

We are ready to get the 2012 season started and we welcome all the returning players, families and new players. Last season was the second year of our merger of the two leagues and it was extremely successful. After reflecting on the 2011 season and meeting with the Board of Directors, I am pleased to announce the following for 2012:

Our reputation is growing toward our goal as one of the best programs in the community. With that said last year so many new players we had to expand by adding one additional team. I foresee more kids joining our league in 2012.
The regular season will continue to start sometime in May after the completion of the High School baseball season. All games will count in standings and take us up to the year-end tournament, then all-stars. This will allow the high school baseball athlete to play the entire regular season. This will allow for balanced competition for each team.
In addition, for those kids who are not in high school or did not make their high school baseball teams, we will continue the pre-season schedule that will begin in April. This will allow kids, not actively playing baseball during the high school season to refine their skills and get ready for the start of the regular season. This will also help each player once the high school kids come back to play.
During post season play our 13 year olds advanced to State level and were one game away from advancing to Regional’s. Let’s keep up the good work and I foresee Bel-Mateo doing well again in 2012.
We are also continuing on streamlining our board duties to make a more efficient Board of Directors. If you are interested in participating with the Board, please get involved. The Board of Directors meets throughout the season and works toward improving the league. This is a volunteer organization and we can certainly use the help.
